Carvings are not the only detail bonding these precious pendants with Italy. The original and typical shape of the Memorie Italiane jewels is inspired by the flower of the strawberry tree, an evergreen plant also known with the Latin name of “Arbustus Unedo”.
The strawberry tree has such a unique characteristic that indissolubly connects it with our tricolor: its white flowers start blooming while the red fruits are just ripe, together with the green of the leaves, revealing a chromatic composition emblem of the Italian flag. It is extremely rare that a plant has flower and fruit together, a peculiarity making this plant so special. To the point that the great poet Giovanni Pascoli dedicated to it a magnificent poem.
